Misión Huascarán Stands Out in its Nutrition Program, Impacting 1,558 Beneficiaries in Áncash

Over the last period, Misión Huascarán has carried out a series of activities that have left a significant mark on the region, benefiting an impressive total of 1,558 beneficiaries in Áncash.

 

Health Campaigns and Nutritional Counseling: 57 counseling sessions

The organization has carried out Health Campaigns in six different communities: Jauna, Lloclla, Carazbamba, Nicrupampa, Acopampa and Cajamarquilla, providing care and guidance on health and nutrition issues. In addition, a total of 57 Nutritional Counseling sessions were given in these same locations, providing personalized advice to promote healthier eating habits.

 

Nutrition Education and Practical Sessions: Empowering the Community

Education plays a vital role in Misión Huascarán’s nutrition program. A total of 100 beneficiaries participated in Educational Talks that were held in Lloclla, Punyan, Cajamarquilla and Acopampa, promoting understanding of the importance of a balanced diet. In addition, 73 persons, partook in Demonstration Sessions that were held in Amashca, Congar and Pariaqaqa, and 67 students interacted in Playful Workshops in Amashca Inicial, Paltac and Congar, actively involving the community in the promotion of healthy eating.

 

Economic Development and Training: Strengthening Cleaning Habits

In an effort to promote economic autonomy, Misión Huascarán provided training to local bakers, focused on promoting hygiene habits, benefiting 4 individuals.

 

Home Support and Sustainable Production: A Self-Sufficient Community

Misión Huascarán made home visits to 18 homes in Canchapampa and Congar, offering personalized guidance on nutrition and health.

Local food production and overall food security have also been a priority, with the production of 925 eggs and 27,400 units of heminic bread. This benefited a total of 642 people in the region. The supervision of Biogardens in Punyan, Amashca, Pariaqaqa and Congar has also been a crucial component in promoting sustainable agriculture and food self-sufficiency.

 

Equity in Access to Food: Donation of Fish to 1000 Beneficiaries

Misión Huascarán is proud of its commitment to equity and resource distribution. In this sense, 2 tons of fish were donated to 1,000 beneficiaries in various locations, including Congar, Paltac, Tomapampa, Belén, Incapu, Huaypan, Canchapampa, Acreypampa, Putaca, Huashcao, Ushno, the weaving from Knitting Hope from Ushno and Carhuaz.

 

School Education and Child Nutrition: Preparing for the Future

The Misión Huascarán nutrition program also reached schools, with the delivery of Tomatodos to 137 students thanks to the Fluye Bottle company in Amashca, Punyan and Pariaqaqa, as well as the distribution of Leche Bonle thanks to Grupo Gloria to 140 children under 3 years of age in Huashcao , Canchapampa, Pariaqaqa, Congar and Punyan.

 

Breastfeeding Promotion: Breastfeeding Contest

To promote the importance of breastfeeding, a Breastfeeding Contest was organized with the participation of 12 mothers.

In summary, all of these interactions with the community have had a positive impact on a total of 1,558 beneficiaries in Áncash. Misión Huascarán continues its mission to improve the quality of life of the local community and is committed to continuing to make a significant difference in the future.
