Very soon our knitters in the town of Congar, and the district of Shilla – Carhuaz, will have a properly implemented space where they can create beautiful hand-knitt pieces.
This is the second textile workshop that Knitting Hope of Misión Huascarán has set up in its area of influence. The textile workshops offer rural women the possibility of generating extra income that helps them support their homes and thus improve their quality of life.
Today, knitting hope has more than 80 affiliated artisans, adolescents and mothers, many of them illiterate and without the possibility of receiving an education, but with exceptional skills in knitting and embroidery.
Thanks to the training, professional advice, rigorous quality standards and a conditioned environment to be able to exercise such a beautiful trade, have result in their recognition at an international level.
